Race 700 vertical meters on 3km? 99% of the ascent is on the trail with very technical and steep parts with finish on the top of hill.
Bring new kind of running activity to Taiwan – relatively short and intensive run with significant elevation gain with finish on the top of chosen hill. Running up is preferred on trail, stone path, stairways and occasionally on road. Increase runner’s physical ability in high intensity anaerobic activity.
The event doesn’t finish just on the top of hill, but participants have to come back down to race base in different way – purpose of this part is show beauty of Taiwan country side, or explore new trail and socialize runners during coming down and sharing their experiences.
Course for both categories is identical! Challenge Hikers have to allow pass incoming HILL Runners without any collision and restriction (more in Trail Ethics).
Course of event will be announced online and runners can train it (one unofficially training with organizers 3-4 weeks before race) and observe their progress.
In race day will be awarded first 5 to 7 top runners in male and female category, but in ranking will considered also age categories:

HILL Runner 700 is not just single race, but also more HILL Runners races will be held (400,550,1100,...)
Participants of each race will receive points according to the race results determined by position or time of winner. (will be specifiedlater)
On the end of series will be announced overall winners and overall winners of categories. (will be specifiedlater)
Participant overall score will be determined by three (will be determined later) best results. (eg. run 4 races from 5, but only 3 best results will count)

Overall 5th position with time 35:30, overall winner had time 33:20 (100%), which is 106.50% of Petr's time = 106.50 points for Petr for overall scoring. Also he was second in M30 category, first in category had time 34:20 (100%, this time can be determined by overall time winner), which is 103.40% of Petr's time = 103.40 points for Petr for category scoring.
Overall (1st, 2nd and 3rd) male and female winners are not awarded in categories (0th category position), but their time can be used for category scoring.
Each finisher will be awarded by finisher medal and small gift. Within one week will be possible download results and electronic (.pdf) certificate.
Awards of HILL Runner
Top 3 female and male runners will be awarded.
Organizer has preserved the right to adjust the numbers of medals and trophies to be awarded.
Participant can allow and authorize others to receive his/her award due to unavailability to be present if award ceremony will be held after 11am. Participant will bear the mailing cost if mailing is preferred.
Runner break course record (HILL RUNNER 700: current time of organizer 34min 54s for male and 45min 51s for female) will be awarded 1000 NTD and has to be present in award ceremony.
Shuttle Bus (auxiliary if more than 100 participants, will be confirmed): 26th March 2016 starts from Xindian MRT close to entry to riverside, first bus departs at 7:00 am. Shuttle bus will not be provided after finish of event.

Organizer is using own chip system. WRIST BAND with CHIP and participant has to touch given sensor in the finish.
Organizer will only provide 1 chip per individual (please ensure the chip is tied securely on the right hand wrist. Bib number has to be place visible on the front of the body.
Chip touch sensor in finish. Success record is indicated by sound. Also follow instruction of assistant person in finish.
Participant must return wrist band with chip and will get a finisher medal after the race.
BIB and CHIP timing guidance step by step:
BIBs must be placed on the front of body. Those without BIBs will not be allowed to participate in this event.
Participant is urged to bring their Taiwan Health Card or insurance card.
Race supply depot will be not be provided in first ascent section. Water and hot or cold drinks (dependence on weather) and basic refreshment will be provided in first Check Point (CP) under peak (2km after peak in HILL Runner 700). Organizer will provide only one cup for per participant in CP (environmental awareness).
Who will pollute (bottles, sport gels or bars container, or any solid material) during the race will be disqualified.
Race time closure (HILL Runner 700): 1st closure time 2 hours after individual start at top of Guī shān 龜山. Finisher has to carefully move to down to CP and back to race base before 12 pm and have to follow designated route. Who cannot reach top of mountain (ascent) within 2 hours has to return in same way down to start and base of race. Last runner will be followed by organizer staff (firs aid) and has to inform him with any difficulties.
Race routes will include high risk routes. Should the participants have not signed the online consent form nor under age have not have their parent’s consent form signed (agreement 未成年子女參賽同意書 download here). Organizer has the right to reject the registration and the participation.
Participants are encouraged to seriously evaluate his/her health status before joining this risk activity and race.
Each participant must evaluate his/own health status. If there are any discomforts or rest needed, one must report to the event crew for assistance (also last runners will be followed by medic).
This event will be held during raining. Should there be any typhoons (land warning) nor any natural disaster; in order for participants’ safeties, organizers have the right to cancel, delay, or change the event schedule (routes). For updates, please refer to organizer’s announcement.
Mandatory (in cold/rainy weather): light rain jacket or rain cover for thermal comfort after finish on the top.
Mandatory (in hot weather, over 27°C): running belt or bag with own water.
Strongly recommended: good trail shoes (HILL Runner 700 has 99% ascent on trail), own water hydration system
Route arrangement: Major route will have color ribbons and plastic tag indications. Plastic tag or ribbons are for indication only. In main race up hill will not be volunteers.
Medical volunteers: Organizer will provide medical team which will be in second half of the course and will follow last runner.
After race finished, organizer will conduct a complete route run to ensure no participants are left behind and ensure course is clean.
Time: 26th March 2016, Morning: at 6:30am until 12:30pm for baggage storage.
Participants need to go to designated area for baggage storage and retrieve their luggage (with BIB as identification) after the race.
Organizer will not be responsible for individual valuable goods. Organizer will not be responsible for loses of individual valuable goods/items.

Organizers also provide participants with insurance coverage worth of 1 million NTD (details are to be provided by insurance company). And also extra 10,000 NTD injury insurance. Participants are encouraged to purchase extra insurance coverage should he or she there is a need to. Insurance will not cover for participants who already have diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes. Insurance will not cover for those who are pronged to have heat exhaustion, heat stroke, epilepsy, dehydration, etc.
